Our Story
Precision Speech Therapy began with a simple realization—too many children were falling through the cracks.

Many parents shared frustrations like long waitlists, barely missing qualification guidelines, or being told to “wait and see,” even though their concerns remained. In busy, insurance-based clinics, Alyssa saw how large caseloads and tight schedules often meant less time for each child and less flexibility to truly meet their individual needs.

After stepping away from traditional settings and working more privately with children, Alyssa noticed a pattern. Families often came to her feeling discouraged—sharing that their child’s progress had slowed or stalled in high-volume environments. Hearing these stories confirmed what Alyssa already believed: children do best when care is personal, thoughtful, and focused.​
Precision Speech Therapy was founded with a simple goal—quality over quantity.​

Speech-Language Pathologist,
Alyssa van Schaik, M.S., CCC-SLP
Alyssa is a state-licensed and nationally certified Speech-Language Pathologist and the founder of Precision Speech Therapy.
​
She earned her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, graduating summa cum laude. Alyssa has several years of experience working with children, as well as leading a team of speech-language pathologists. After taking time to focus on her growing family, she began working privately with children and families.
Alyssa works with children across a wide range of speech sound needs, from mild articulation differences to more involved speech sound disorders. Her approach is engaging, individualized, and results-driven, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with families. She is passionate about helping children develop clear speech, confidence, and lasting communication skills that support success at home, in school, and beyond.

Outside of her work as an SLP, Alyssa is a proud wife to her husband, Eric, and mom to two energetic boys, Caleb and Noah. She is actively involved in her children’s school community and church.
